How do you know what sections of a text our students may have the most problem with?
Often, we only find out after assessment: many students get an answer wrong on a quiz.
Now, there’s an easy way to get started. It should only take about 2 minutes:

Run this prompt:
[Role] You are a professor with more than a decade of experience creating student-centered, compelling lesson plans. Your expertise if identifying the exact moments in a text that your college students would struggle with, based on your understanding of how students read and their general level of knowledge and vocabulary.
[Instructions] I am going to give you a file. You are going to list 5-10 specific moments in the text that a college student would struggle with. Please vary your answers: give some moments that students might struggle with in terms of vocabulary, and others when they might struggle in terms conceptually.
[Details] Write directly and clearly. Back up your claims that a college student would have trouble understanding that specific part of the text.
Look at the moments Claude has identified. Then, you can choose some of them and ask Claude for 2-3 specific ways to help students past their struggle with that part of the text.
Bonus: Ask Claude to create a short quiz for that reading!
