This activity allows professors to:
➢ Get past “professor’s block” (Get it? Like writer’s block. I know. I’m not funny.)
➢ Switch up their instruction
➢ Question their assumptions about how a topic can be taught
Here are the steps:
- Go into ChatGPT. (To do this, you can click here)
- Copy and paste the following words, and complete the blanks: “Hi, assistant. Act as a professor. Imagine you need to create a ___ - minute lesson plan on _______. The students are ________ [give ChatGPT whatever information you have about the students. Is it their first day? Are they shy? Are they struggling with something?]
- The more specific your input, the better the output will be.
- Read over what ChatGPT generates. Ask follow-up questions, if necessary.
- Prompt ChatGPT to change the lesson plan, if necessary.
- Don’t be shy. Let ChatGPT exactly what you want.
